UK Kidz definitely falls into this category.
This amazing scheme offers childcare to families in a variety of circumstances. For many of these families, their child’s disability requires specialised support, but for others they just need some extra support.
In their own words… “UK KIDZ offers various services dedicated to meet Children’s needs and enhance development: We provide: Childcare, Access to support in Education, recreational activities, play, learning and all activities related to your child’s welfare and development. The staff team are friendly, highly trained, and hold childcare qualifications, all the staff have an enhanced CRB check. Our Staff are supportive in the development and the total care of your child.”
This organisation provides vital assistance to those that need it. Some of the services available are:
- Children with special needs (e.g. Autism and learning difficulties)
- Children’s outings, holiday play etc.
- General Childcare
- Pick up and drop-off to school or home (or elsewhere)
- Over-night care for your child if you work nights
- Respite for siblings of Children with learning disabilities
- Respite for Parents of Children with learning difficulties and disabilities
So, what did we do to help?
One of the challenges many of the families are facing relates to the lack of Free School Meals throughout the Half Term. We wanted to do our bit to ensure no children go hungry, so we visited them with food for them to distribute to those who need it most.
